What do you say in a restaurant or store?

On this page you will be asked what you would say in certain situations if you were traveling in a Spanish speaking country. Read the question and see if you can think of what to say.  Then click on the question and hear the correct response. NOTE: There are different ways to say things, so you may guess correctly what should be said, but have something different than what is said by the speaker.  Don't worry if this is the case.Practice your speaking and pronunciation by repeating the voice of the native speaker.

What would you say if you wanted to know how much something cost?

What would you say if you wanted to know what something is?

What would you say if you wanted to buy something?

What would you say if you were explaining what you wished to purchase?

What would you say if you were looking for something in particular?

What would you say if you wanted to charge a purchase to your credit card?

What would you ask for if you were looking for a postcard?

What would you ask for at a post office?

What would you say if you wanted just a little bit?

What would you say if you wanted a lot?

What would you say if you wanted all of something?

What would you say if you wanted to eat the first meal of the day?

What would you say if you wanted to eat the main, afternoon meal?

What would you say if you wanted to eat the evening meal?

What would you say if you didn't eat meat?

What would you say if you wanted to eat a Kosher meal?

What would you say if you wanted to have a toast to your friends in a cantina?

What would you ask for when you want to leave?

Now go back and quiz yourself by choosing questions at random.  Do you know what to say?  How is your pronunciation?  Are you ready to eat at the «Casa de María»?  ¡Ojalá que sí!

¡Adiós y buen provecho!
