Go learn about animals- small, medium, large. Discover the Spanish for animals that swim, animals that run, animals that crawl or slither, and animals that fly.

 Go to the links listed below and spend some time learning the vocabulary for animals. Each page has vocabulary based on a certain theme, and for each section there is a also a variety of activities for you to help you learn the material. Check out the flash cards and games, and try a few quizzes to see how you do. When you are done with the vocabulary acquisition, do the activities below the links.

Go here to see what animals say in Spanish.  Why are they different?  Do they  really speak Spanish?
Read them out loud (speaking español, of course) and see how they sound.  Are they similar to English?  Are there any that are really diffeent?

Without looking, see if you can name five animals in each of these categories. Write the categories on a piece of paper and list the animals. If you can't do it without looking, go back to the Net and learn them. Try not to repeat animals if possible.

Imagine that you were an animal. What animal would you be? Answer the following questions by copying the Spanish sentences on a sheet of paper and filling-in the blanks.

 Where would you live(geographically speaking)? Viviría en..................

 What would you look like? Yo sería.....................................y tendría.........................

 What kind of an animal would you be? (What would be your "animality"?) Yo sería...........................

 What would you eat? Yo comería......................................

 Where would you sleep? Dormiría en.................................

 What would you do an on an average day? Usualmente yo................. (think of five activities you would do, and put them in the "would" form. Have you figured it out yet? It's the future stem-usually the infinitive- plus "’a".)

 Now put a picture of this animal on the paper and super-impose your face on it.
 


Environments

 With a partner(s).....Choose an environment from the list below. Do some research and prepare a presentation -visual and oral- about this environment and the animals that live in it.  Discuss the environment- surroundings, features and climate- and tell about the flora and fauna of that area.  Be prepared to discuss why you chose your environment.
